Correction to the Print Voter Guide

The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown regrets an error in the print version of the Voter Information Guide in the Boardman Local School Board Race. Candidate Candace Rivera’s response on addressing her priorities includes a portion of one of her opponent’s
responses. Candidate Rivera’s response to “If elected, how will you address your priorities?” is as follows:

“I plan to listen to our taxpayers, our teachers, and our students. I plan to use my experience to make intelligent and thought-out decisions to achieve the best possible outcomes. Fiscal responsibility to our taxpayers is achieved by having a clear vision, setting measurable goals, and monitoring progress using data. It requires making tough decisions, which are sometimes unpopular, and stretching every dollar. It requires focusing on what is needed over what is wanted. I believe a positive learning environment is established by focusing on student achievement, and ensuring our teachers have the resources that allow our students to maintain a high level of excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in their careers beyond graduation.”

Candidate Rivera's response is correct in Vote411.
